A PTCL Worker’s letter to Media Persons and Political Leaders:
First of all Eid mubarak to you & your family.
It is for your kind information that at least 12,000 PTCL Workers have celebrated this Eid without salaries, because the PTCL Management has stopped their salaries due to on strike of these workers. Remember it! That PTCL Worker are observing strike since 02-08-2010 for 50% increasing at their running basic pay, while PTCL Management is still denying this actual right of workers and Management has frozen at 30% only.
Those workers whose salaries are stopped at this holy event I pay appreciation them. Our 4 Central Leaders Malik Maqbool, Rana Hassan, Ammad Qureshi & Shahid Ayub Qureshi are locked up in Adyala Jail and their bails has also been rejected by Islamabad Anti terrorist court in false terrorism cases registered by PTCL Management.
I question with PTCL Management that: –
Are they terrorists?
Are they wrong to getting their right of 50% increase?
Is this strike of all PTCL Workers is illegal?
But Management has no answer against these questions; LHC has already been issued its decision in favor of PTCL Workers (Copy attached for your perusal+Letter from G.S Uni Global Union is also attached). We also strictly condemn the stick charge on peaceful protesters from Armed Forces at PTCL H/Q G-8/4 Islamabad on 03-08-2010.
They poor employees have families, children, Parents and other dependents but it is very sad that they are empty pocket on holy religious event of Eid-ul-fitr while there were either workers who invested their younger hoods and their lives to run and establish this Department while today these workers are useless, now these workers are terrorists, these are not entitled for only 50% increase…very sad!!
Etisalat is leaving friendship of those workers at the time when they cannot choose another option for running bread & butter for their families, it is not a justice. The PTCL Management should be followed on Govt. policy regarding pay increasing. It should be implemented at pay increasing of Govt. of Pakistan as per 50% on running basic without any hesitation so that the Organization’s worker may also be sacrificed with the level of other Govt. employees of the country. It is confirmed that unnecessary expenditures of Management are too much and where a normal contractual Management Trainee (MT) is paid from rupees 40,000 to 60,000/month then why not a BPS Employee is paid for 15,000 only (at minimum rate), then why not only 50% is increased with its salary.
PTCL Workers has some immediate demands with PTCL Management: –
1. Immediate releasing of our said Leaders with returning of false court cases.
2. Returning of Terminations, dismissals and show cause notices issued by PTCL Management.
3. Peaceful talk with our Leaders on remaining common issues of workers.
If PTCL Management not recognizes our actual demands and false court cases on our above said Leaders not returns then we will compel to continue our strike in whole Department after Eid Holidays.
I highly request that may kindly be high lighted said issue of 30,000 PTCL BPS Employees with your portfolio so that the PTCL Arabic Management be resolved this issue with peaceful because PTCL and this country cannot bear more than burdens in such critical situation of the country.
