Fire at PTCL Egerton Road Lahore exchange – interrupts telephone services

PTCL workers busy in diverting telephone connections to backup system

Lahore (Breaking News / Sunday, September 28, 2014) – The fifth and sixth floors of PTCL building caught fire early on Sunday interrupting telephone service in many areas of Lahore, Express News reported.
According to details, majority of the PTCL connection within the provincial capital stopped working after fire broke out in the PTCL exchange located at Egerton road in Lahore.
While talking to Express News, PTCL officials said that it will take 3-4 days to restore the service in all areas of the city.
It took fire fighters two hours to extinguish the fire. No causalities were reported.

Lahore (Sun, Sept 28, 2014) -According to details, fire broke out at the 4th storey of the Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) building situated at the Agerton Road on early Sunday morning which quickly spread to other areas of the building.
Firefighters and rescue teams from all over the city reached the spot and brought the fire under control after hectic efforts of three hours.
The fire also suspended PTCL and internet service in the city. According to initial reports, the fire was caused by short circuit.
