Increase in pensions demanded by PTCL pensioners Peshawar

Peshawar—The retired employees of Pakistan Telecommunication Limited (PTCL) has demanded initiating measures for the payment of increase in pension and medical allowance and action against (PTCL/PTET) for delaying the implementation of the decision of the government.

This was stated by Jehanzeb Khan, general secretary, Pakistan Telecom: (Retd) Employees Association while addressing a press conference here on Monday. He said that the retired employees of the PTCL are receiving pensions since long along with time to time increase in proportion to price hike on different occasions. However, this time the announcement of the 15% increase in the pension and 25% rise in the medical allowance is still awaiting implementation in the PTCL.—APP

    The agitation is also going on Rawalpindi/Islamabad. A meeting and rally was conducted on Murree Road Rawalpindi on 6/11/2010 with banners and play cards against PTET,PTCL and Government. In the same way a rally was conducted in Islamabad on 8/11/2010 from GEO Plaza Islamabad to Press club Islamabad. The partisipants raised their voice against PTET and Government for not giving budget relief to PTCL pensioners.
