Islamabad: Supreme Court (SC) Takes Notice of Bahria Town Car Racing Tragedy: Hearing on December 13, 2010:

Supreme Court Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry on Friday took notice of the car racing tragedy in which five people were killed and issued notices to PPO Punjab and Deputy Commissioner, Rawalpindi.
In his order the chief justice said: “Loss has been caused to the lives of five persons, including a teenager child who along with his family members was present at the site and apparently so far no legal action has been initiated against the responsible persons…” The court issued notices to PPO Punjab, DC Rawalpindi to appear in the court on December 13 and “explain what action so far has been taken in this regard.” The chief justice took notice on a report of a private TV channel about 11-year old Asfand Yar, who wrote an essay on a road accident involving himself two days before his death. Asfand Yar, his father Babar Ali Khan and three others died when one of the drivers of the drag race lost control and ploughed into spectators on last Sunday.
