Shophive.com has seen a marked increase in unique visitors and sales over the course of 2012 and experts speculate that this trend is set to grow as payment options become available and people become better acquainted with the online shopping industry. According to information received via Google, online sales in Karachi showed a marked increase in 2012 as people turned to internet retailers because of safety concerns. Internet penetration is also showing a steady increase with major players in the market providing increased fiber connectivity to different parts of the country, particularly in rural areas, providing a further impetus to the potential of online sales. The contract was signed at a small ceremony at the latitude office in Lahore.

Speaking about the contract, Shophive CEO Arslan Nazir said, “I expect a significant growth in online sales and trading in 2013. First, there is growing awareness among consumers about the benefits of online shopping, including safety and security. Also, the rumour is that PayPal is coming back to Pakistan, which should provide an easy payment solution. Ebay is expected to come to Pakistan as well, and this will definitely increase consumer interest in online purchasing. All in all it’s the perfect time to educate people about the benefits of online retail and Latitude is our perfect partner for the future.”

Latiude CEO, Omar Jamil, said at the event, “Shophive.com is a company we are proud to work with. I believe our values are very similar and this is the most important part of any corporate relationship. Their standards are unparalleled in the industry and we hope to have a very productive relationship with them in the years to come. ”
