MoIT Letter to HRO PTCL and MD PTET on PTCL Pensioners Issue

This letter has been written in response to Application send by Muhammad Tauqeer (PTCL Pensioners belongs to Sialkot) to MNA from Karachi, Dr. Muhammad Farooq Sattar

Application Written to MQM’s MNA

Doctor Muhammad Farooq Sattar,
Member National Assembly,
Karachi.Respected Sir,As much as 40,000 retired Civil Servant families which include at least 13,000 widows and orphans throughout the country are in deep economic crisis for last four years. These people have served the country and Government of Pakistan for their lives but now neglected by their own government they had long served.

PTET (Pakistan Telecommunication Employees Trust) after being constituted in 1994 used to pay all the increases as announced by the Govt. of Pakistan for fourteen consecutive years as remained in vogue during the past. A deviation by PTET occurred in 2009 during previous regime and it denied pensionary benefits to its beneficiaries as per announcement of the government by exceeding from its powers. Despite clear orders by the government, clarifications by the courts and directives by National Assembly Standing Committee on Information Technology, PTET is denying implementation of these orders/recommendations/directives.
Being an important member of National Assembly Standing Committee on Information Technology it is requested to kindly help this old, sick and helpless community of the country by directing the concerned ministry(Ministry of IT) and department (PTET) to pay all the outstanding dues during meeting of the committee scheduled on 21-01-2014.

Thanks and best regards,

Deputy Convener,
