Karachi (July 11, 2011) -: The telephone lines of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) headquarters Nine Zero in Karachi were restored on Monday following the orders of Interior Minister Rehman malik.
MQM held an emergency press conference late on Sunday after phone lines of their headquarters were disconnected. Anees Qaim Khani, the deputy convener of MQM Coordination Committee, lashed out at the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and urged them to stop hatching conspiracies against the MQM.
In a press briefing, MQM leader Anis Advocate said that PPP leader Zulfiqar Mirza held a meeting with MQM-Haqiqi chief Afaq Ahmad on Saturday where plan was chalked out to attack Nine Zero.
The MQM Coordination Committee expressed its reservations on this situation. However, according to a preliminary report the lines were out of order due to a technical fault.
The intial investigation report presented to the interior ministry states that the MQM can become part of joint committee if it has reservations on the report’s credibility.
