National Grassroots ICT Research Initiative

National ICT R&D Fund is inviting nominations for its recently launched program National Grassroots ICT Research Initiative“, which aims to provide financial assistance to undergraduate students of chartered Public and Private Universities enrolled in ICT related disciplines and currently undertaking Final Year Projects (FYPs). The funding under this initiative will assist the final year undergraduate students for building prototypes and working models of their Final Year Projects (FYPs) in order to increase their creativity, innovation and hands on engineering and development skills.

Students interested to benefit from this initiative should furnish nominations of their Final Year Projects (FYPs) through respective Head of Departments on prescribed Final Year Project (FYP) Nomination Form before the deadline.(January 18, 2013)

National Grassroots ICT Research Initiatives NGIRI Program

About the Initiative

This initiative aims to promote, enable, and encourage R&D culture at the grassroots level by funding relatively high calibre R&D projects initiated by ICT related undergraduate students under the mentorship of faculty members in chartered universities of both Public and Private sector.
The Fund will provide financial support to selected Final Year Projects (FYP) of undergraduate students enrolled in ICT related disciplines like Computer Science & Information Technology, Electrical, Electronics, Telecom, Computer, and Software Engineering.


The financial assistance under the initiative will enable students undertaking Final Year Projects (FYP) in building prototypes and working models to showcase their creativity and innovation by applying hands on engineering and development skills. The funding covers the cost of purchase of equipment and other miscellaneous costs associated with the development of the prototype or working model. Maximum up to Rs. 75,000/- can be provided to a Final Year Project (FYP) and the break-up of budget is as follows:

  1. Equipment:                                          Maximum up to Rs. 65,000/-
  2. Miscellaneous:                                    Maximum up to Rs. 10,000/-

 

How to Apply
The nominations for Final Year Projects may be furnished through respective Head of Departments on the prescribed nomination form at the following address (No online submission is accepted)

Note:

The last date for submission of nomination is January 18, 2013. No online submission is accepted. Only Hard copies of forms duly signed by the FYP Supervisor and Head of Department may be furnished through courier/registered mails.
