Islamabad (DailyTimes / Wednesday, September 11, 2013) – Privatisation Commission’s board was informed on Tuesday that physical verification and valuation of the properties to be handed over to Etisalat are being finalised and this process would be completed soon.

According to the official sources, a meeting of the Privatisation Commission board presided over by chairman Eng Khurram Dastagir Khan expressed the satisfaction over the process.
It was stressed upon the commission that it needs to gear up its efforts for recovery of privatisation proceeds due against strategic investors who purchased the national entities during the privatisation process carried out during the last two decades.
Meeting of the commission was held in its committee room, where Secretary Amjad Ali Khan, board members Saif Ullah Magsi, Zulfiqar Ali Hussaini and other officials attended the meeting.
The board reviewed the implementation status of the decisions of the previous board meeting. The board allowed grant of 10 percent adhoc relief allowance 2013 to the employees of the commission, as announced by the federal government in the budget 2013-14. The board was informed about the status of transfer of properties to Pakistan Telecommunications Company Ltd, in order to obtain the outstanding $800 million from Etisalat. Remunerations for consultants and advisers were rationalised in the board meeting. The board resolved to redouble all statutory and legal actions by the Privatisation Commission to recover due amounts.
Official sources also informed that the commission has plans to hold meetings to gear up its efforts to complete pre-privatisation process of the federal entities approved for privatisation.
