PTCL Launched Relief Operation for Drought Stricken People of Thar
(Message of Shahzad Safdar Khan, PTCL’s EVP (HR Services)
Dear all PTCL Employees,
The recent tragic event of drought afflicting many areas of Thar has resulted in an unfortunate loss of invaluable lives, particularly children. These people have been victims of lack of food and nutrition which is in short supply there. In view of the plight of our countrymen, PTCL feels it as its duty and moral obligation to help them in this hour of need. We have planned to provide all possible assistance for the relief and rehabilitation of these drought-stricken people through company resources and are sending food items as well as medicines and Mobile Medical Units to these areas.
We urge upon our employees also to contribute generously towards this national cause by making donations. In order to facilitate this task, relief camps are being established across all the Regions which would be managed by the HRBPs. The respective HRBPs and DDOs have been designated as Points of Contact for this relief operation who would collect donations, preferably in the form of cash or cheque. Our employees can also donate packed food items which are urgently required for the relief activities which include flour, rice, milk, water bottles, cooking oil, etc but in view of the difficulties involved in handling these items, it would be better if donations are made in cash instead of kind which would be then used for buying necessary food items for the sufferers.
It is to be noted that cities where HPBPs are not based, the Points of Contact would be the respective SBM / BM who would then coordinate with the concerned HRBP in this regard.
It is hoped that our employees would support us in this noble mission as every individual’s donation would greatly impact our collective effort in saving the lives of our brethren. This is a testing time for us as a nation and we owe it to our fellow countrymen who’ve become victims of this unfortunate situation to provide them with all possible relief.
