Telecom Pensioners demands pension increase

SIALKOT (Tuesday, December 20, 2011) : PTCL (Pak Telecom) pensioners have demanded increase in pension and medical allowance as announced by the government in budgets of fiscal years 2010-11 and 2011-12, said Chairman Telecom Pensioners Action Committee Muhammad Tauqeer in a statement. He stated that Supreme Court of Pakistan in its judgment of 07-10-2011 had declared all the telecom pensioners as civil servants and in the light of the verdict of the court all increases in pensions announced by government fully applied to telecom pensioners. He said earlier National Assembly Standing Committee on IT & Telecom had directed the Ministry of IT & Telecom to pay those increases announced by the government to the telecom pensioners. He demanded president, prime minister and chief justice of Pakistan take notice of this injustice with telecom pensioners and order release of all increases announced by government to 40,000 telecom pensioners across the country.

Asslam-O-Alekum,
1. Credit, gratitude & salutations to Mr, Tahir Iqbal (moderator ptclworkers) forum, Mr.Fazli Ali, Mr M.Tauqeer & others for their support and efforts.
2. It is a milestone ahead to our struggle but still require patience as there are some more hurdles.
3. May Allah (SWT) give wisdom to PTCL/PTET/Govt administration to make correct decisions and should not waste their time and money of the PTCL by further lingering the case in supreme court as two strong decisions in favour of pensioners have been awarded.
4. The PTCL should also be held responsible to pay the depreciation of held amount at the bank rate.

We all must pray Namaz-e-Shukrana for decision in favour of thousands of PTCL pensioners. Now we should continue to remain and work with the same efforts/unity and also for other benefits admissible to retired PTCL and not giving by the PTCL.
