The second question: where does United States stands? No matter how much one denies, one expects the US to be amongst the toppers. The latest global compilation by Akamai Technologies pushes US out of the top 10 for the highest internet speed.

The love for online gaming in South Korea, booming telecommunication technology in Japan, finance and technology industry in Switzerland and Singapore have been enough for these countries to be in the running for the top slot.

On the fastest average speed scale, South Korea beats Hong Kong with an average speed of 14.7 megabytes per second followed by the other technology giant, Japan.
